Poor African Farmers, Children Harmed By Predatory Practices of Bill Gates' Monsanto’s GMO Investment!

By Norris R. McDonald

Bill Gates and the Gates Foundation have drawn sharp criticism for their financial ties to Monsanto, the agrochemical giant known for aggressively pushing genetically modified crops (GMOs), suing small farmers over alleged patent violations, and promoting pesticides linked to environmental and health hazards, such as glyphosate.

"Bill Gates hides under a mask of philanthropy but is guilty of many predatory corporate practices."

According to a 2010 Seattle Times report, the Gates Foundation invested at least $20 million in Monsanto, raising ethical questions about the foundation’s mission to "help small farmers in Africa."
Bill Gates stand accused of helping to destroy African agriculture with his investment in MONSANTO, GMO seeds which destroyed the land.
Critics argue that Monsanto’s GMOs increase dependency on patented seeds, the company’s dominance undermines local, sustainable farming practices, and pesticide use damages biodiversity and soil fertility. This has led to public protests and global campaigns urging the Foundation to divest from Monsanto and support more sustainable, farmer-led solutions.
Another controversial moment involved the Gates Foundation’s support for a cholera vaccine campaign in Haiti, post-2010 earthquake. While presented as a humanitarian effort, a Lancet article and various European Parliament questions (e.g., E-002940/2022 by Virginie Joron) raise concerns that the Foundation was using Haiti as a test market to promote commercial vaccine interests. Local infrastructure issues were not addressed adequately, such as clean water and sanitation. The effort benefited pharmaceutical companies more than Haitian citizens.

“From African farms to vaccine patents, Bill Gates profits while cloaked in philanthropy!"

The broader criticism is that Gates has blurred the line between philanthropy and profiteering, leveraging global health crises to gain influence while indirectly benefiting companies he invests in.
