Once upon a time, in the vast and rugged lands of South Africa, there reigned a cunning and ambitious ruler known as King Musk Rat. He inherited the throne from his recently dead father and soon became as abusive and oppressive to the other dwellers of the kingdom.

Unlike the ordinary muskrats that scurried along riverbanks, King Muskrat was different—he walked upright, dressed in the finest robes, and had the sharp wit of a seasoned merchant. Under his rule, the kingdom prospered, but only for him and his closest allies. The other animals toiled day and night, yet they saw little of the riches they helped create.

King Musk Rat fled South Africa with bags of money after the people formed ‘uMkhonto weSizwe: Spear of the Nation movement and chased him out.

One fateful night, the animals of South Africa had had enough. The lions, the elephants, and even the cunning jackals banded together and forced King Muskrat to flee. With bags of gold and stolen treasures strapped to his back, he vanished into the night, escaping across the seas to America.
